Best romance books of 2023 so far, as chosen by Amazon Editors

We swooned over so many romance books in 2023 before finally settling on our true loves—otherwise known as the best romance books of the year (so far). Below are a few teasers, and you can find the full list of the

Looking to fill up your TBR list this summer? Our 20 best books overall—led by our top choice Hello Beautiful—are revealed here.

by Lucy Score

Lucy Score picks up where she left off in Things We Never Got Over. But instead of Knox and Naomi, this time we turn our attention—and alternating narratives—to Knox’s police-chief brother, Nash, and beautiful badass Lina Solavita. Things We Hide from the Light is another fun, exciting, sexy, page-turner rom-com with memorable characters, smoking hot sexual tension (and action), and criminals behaving badly. I don’t want to give away spoilers for either book, so suffice it to say that the missing bad guy from book one makes a return appearance, Nash and Lina play a game of cat and mouse, profound realizations are had in unlikely venues, and Score has some new tricks up her sleeve that kept my blood pumping all the way to the end. The gang’s all here, the party’s getting started, and Knockemout is the place to be….

by Tati Richardson

This book features a main character you can’t help but root for! Ari James is a phenomenal architect trying to find her way in a male-dominated field. Under-appreciation for her talents and misogyny from male counterparts is something Ari has dealt with her entire career—so when she takes a new job, she is determined to stay singularly focused on her career. That is, until she meets handsome Porter Harrison, her new co-worker who can’t keep his eyes (or hands) off of her. Porter’s infatuation with Ari, despite her attempts to keep his affection at bay, is endearing and sweet—he seduces Ari with her favorite things: music, food, and fun. This is a feel-good romance, sure to make you smile and maybe even blush a bit.

by Amy Lea

We loved Amy Lea’s first book, Set on You, so we were super excited to discover the second book in The Influencer series, Exes and O’s. Tara, a romance book influencer, finds herself dumped (again) by the fiancé she thought was her happily ever after. Taking inspiration from her grandmother’s second-chance love story, Tara decides to explore the men of her past to see if future love can be found. Tara enlists Trevor, her new roommate, in this quest. Through shared bags of Cheetos and hot tub think sessions, Trevor helps Tara work through her list of exes. Tara is a messy pack-rat determined to find love, while Trevor is a compulsive neat-freak who is secure in his bachelor status. The two couldn’t be more opposite. Tara and Trevor’s dynamic and numerous laugh-out-loud, cringeworthy moments made this one of my favorite reads of the year.
